[...] Sharp vox performances across the board from actors clearly relishing the chance to play in this world also prove likewise fun to resist. [...] Virtually importantly, Harley gets to be an entire person all her own, equally heartbreakingly naive as she is wickedly strange and funny."[79] Robyn Bahr of The Hollywood Reporter wrote: "Information technology's one of the best surprises of the year. [...] thirteen zippy, violent and irreverent half-hour episodes. [...] The writing is oft uproarious, brimming full of Millennial nostalgia and cerebral gallows sense of humor (the erstwhile may be low-hanging, speedily-perishable fruit, but at least the show knows how to embrace its audience)."[80]

You know, I call back we felt similar Kite Man was kind of innocuous and that he would feel incredibly condom for Ivy because he worshipped her, and nosotros didn't really recall through that stereotype if I'1000 existence completely honest. Nosotros definitely should have. I didn't realize it was such a trope until a couple people pointed it out to me after the show ended. Again, it's an opportunity to do better in the side by side season. We try really hard to subvert tropes on the show, and that'due south certainly a very meaningful ane we missed". HarleyQuinnTV. - ^ a b Halpern, Justin. "This was much discussed. What we decided on was that both Harley and Ivy had had relationships with women before this. Ivy has definitely had less relationships overall, but we didn't think this was her get-go time in a queer relationship. And yes, definitely going to be diving into Ivy'due south origins more if we get some other flavor. And she for sure had a crush on true cat woman. I think at that place are a lot of complicated feelings there". HarleyQuinnTV. Reddit. Archived from the original on October 29, 2021. Retrieved Oct 28, 2021.
- ^ Halpern, Justin. "Well, we very much tried to go out lots and lots of breadcrumbs, even from the pilot episode, of how Ivy felt about Harley. That was the thing most the ending, information technology wasn't Kite Man having Ivy realize she has feelings for Harley, Ivy already knew that. She was just terrified of embracing them because Harley is the virtually important relationship in her life, and also, remember, one of her ONLY relationships. She'south a loner who would rather non be such a loner, merely has been hurt then fucking bad past basically everyone in her life (we'll see more of this in season iii) that the thought of fucking upward the relationship with the ane person who truly loves her made her push all her feelings down. I think Anti-Hero harley has been washed well so I call up unless nosotros institute our ain way to do it that felt interesting, we'll keep information technology fuzzy". HarleyQuinnTV. Reddit AMA.
